Ideas for Foods When Eating Out

When you're eating out, you are limited by the selection restaurants offer, so it is somewhat harder to stick to the program, but it can be done.
-
If you have the option, go to one of the better restaurants since their food is usually less processed. Just the experience will be pleasurable in itself.
-
Every restaurant has meat, fish, poultry and vegetables (even McDonald's). Focus on selecting foods that are the closest to Nature and with the least amount of chemicals and questionable ingredients as possible. For example a steak would be great, a burger (without the bun, cheese, or sauce) would be acceptable if it is 100% meat, but meatloaf would likely have too many questionable ingredients in it, which wouldn't be a good idea.
-
Totally ignore the sections of the menu that list pizza, pasta, and soup.
-
Look for something on the menu you like and ask if you can order it without the bun, bread, rice, fries or sauce. It may still have excellent flavor if the chef uses spices and herbs well.
-
Order a salad or a side dish of the vegetables of the day. Don't be shy to order both if you're really hungry. Some people take butter, extra virgin olive oil and ocean sea salt with them to put on vegetables or salads. Some restaurants don't have real butter, and instead have a whipped version which includes unnatural fats.
-
Create your own salad/vegetable dressing. Ask for some lemon and olive oil on the side.
-
Fill up on the main meal so there is no temptation to even consider dessert.
-
If you're at a barbecue you can eat any meat that isn't breaded or has barbecue sauce added - ask the host to prepare your meat without barbeque sauce. Do not have any bun, rolls or bread and don't use any condiments. Have any vegetables allowed on the diet that are plain. Ask for some lemon and olive oil on the side for salads. Eat 2 patties for every burger (with bun) you would have otherwise eaten, add sea salt to taste, and melt butter over them.
-
Ask for bottled water or tea instead of soda, coffee or alcohol.
-
You'll probably do better with foods like salads, stir-fried vegetables and meats, grilled meats and burgers (without the bun, cheese, or sauce), steak without sauces, chicken and seafoods that aren't breaded, and sauteed or steamed vegetables and salads.
