Gallstones Does Not Mean the Gall Bladder is Diseased!

The presence of gallstones doesn't mean the gall bladder is diseased and must be surgically removed, which can lead to cancer and many other health problems. Gallstones are the result of imbalances in the body, which can, and should, be corrected. Removing the gall bladder does not treat the "true cause."

Gall Bladder, Bile & the Liver's Role

The gall bladder is a receptacle for bile salts produced by the liver. The liver produces bile mainly from cholesterol. Bile consists of water, cholesterol, other good fats, bile pigments, bile salts and sodium bicarbonate. Bile salts (sodium glycocholate and sodium taurocholate) are also produced by the liver from cholesterol.

Bile is mainly used to digest certain kinds of dietary fats and for enzyme production. When the contents of the stomach (chyme is a mixture of food, water, and stomach acid), are emptied into the first part of the small intestines (duodenum), the presence of protein and fats stimulates the gall bladder to contract and let bile down into the duodenum.

Besides producing bile, the liver also breaks down harmful or toxic substances (toxins) absorbed from the intestine or manufactured elsewhere in the body, and it excretes them as harmless by-products into the bile or blood.

However when the liver gets clogged up by too many toxins it becomes less able to break down and get rid of toxins, which makes it less capable of producing bile. This can cause the bile mixture to be imbalanced so it becomes too concentrated which contributes to the formation of gallstones.

The Sphincter of Oddi's Role

Also the sphincter of Oddi is involved in the formation of gallstones. This sphincter controls secretions from the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder into the duodenum of the small intestine. If the sphincter of Oddi becomes tight or closed, it does not allow adequate drainage of fluids from the pancreas and bile ducts. Therefore bile is prevented from draining into the intestine and instead it flows back into the gallbladder, where it is stored and concentrated which contributes to the formation of gallstones.

The sphincter of Oddi functioning is directly related to the production of a hormone called Cholecystokinin (CCK), which is stimulated by fat-rich and protein-rich chyme entering the duodenum from the stomach. If there isn't enough fat and protein in the mixture emptying from the stomach, there won't be enough CCK which will cause the sphincter of Oddi to become tight or closed.

How Candida Contributes to Gallstones

In addition candida/yeast overgrowth produces high numbers of toxins which causes all cell membranes to become rigid/stiff, so this affects the functioning of the sphincter Oddi, the liver, gall bladder function, and digestion, along with many other health issues. Rigid cell membranes also interfere with communication between the cells, so hormones such as CCK aren't as able to act like they should.

Gallstones Means the Body is Reserving Cholesterol

Dr. Tom Cowan, in his article Ask the Doctor About Gallstones explains:   "Gallstones are a sign that your body has "decided" to increase its reservoir of cholesterol. Why would it do this? The obvious answer is that it has become "afraid" that the supply of cholesterol is low, therefore it uses the strategy of storing extra for a "rainy day."

Actually, it's quite a clever and innovative strategy. Your gall bladder is not diseased, it doesn't need to come out. In fact, we know that taking your gall bladder out will increase your risk of cancer. The reason that removing the gall bladder leads to cancer has been the subject of study and research for over 40 years. The best guess is that when you remove the reservoir for the bile acids they get secreted into the intestines in an "inappropriate" fashion. "Inappropriate" could mean 'not in its usual rhythm,' or 'in an altered form.' The excess cancer risk is seen in the right side of the colon, exactly where these bile salts enter and "irritate" the colon.

Over the years, I have become convinced that most of what we call disease is actually the body's adaptive strategy to less-than-optimal circumstances. Modern medicine gets rid of this adaptive strategy without fixing the underlying cause, leading to side effects that are worse than the original disease."

Cholesterol is Vital to Your Health

Contrary to popular believe cholesterol is vital to your overall health, and gallstones are telling you that what your body needs most is more cholesterol! It isn't true that all fats are bad for you and can lead to heart disease or other diseases. Dr. Cowan goes on to say:   "Once your body is convinced that you are serious and will provide it with a steady stream of cholesterol, which it desperately needs to stay alive, it will give up the flawed strategy of storing extra, the stones will dissolve and you will be well again. The best way to provide your gall bladder with cholesterol is to eat plenty of animal fats. If you eat a lot of vegetable oils and trans fats, the gall bladder is likely to become inflamed. If you are on a low-fat diet, the gall bladder atrophies because it does not have enough work to do." Animal fats include butter, lard, and natural occurring fats in meats and fish. Extra virgin olive oil and unrefined coconut oil are also excellent natural fats.

The Cholesterol Theory Is a Total Scam!

In the last few decades "The Cholesterol Theory" has contributed significantly to deteriorating health throughout the world. The cholesterol theory - also called the Lipid (fat) Hypothesis - is the belief that high blood cholesterol promotes atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and heart disease. However this proved to be totally untrue, making it one of the biggest scams in history.

Cholesterol is a molecule, often called a lipid or fat, which is a soft, waxy substance found in every cell in your body. Contrary to propaganda by the medical, drug and food industries, cholesterol is not a deadly poison, but a substance that is vital to the cells of all mammals.

Uffe Ravnskov, M.D., Ph.D. writes in his book The Cholesterol Myths: Exposing the Fallacy That Saturated Fat and Cholesterol Cause Heart Disease: "Your cholesterol tells very little about your future health."

In other words your cholesterol levels are a non-issue when it comes to predicting your future health as pointed out by Dr. Ravnskov: "A high blood cholesterol is said to promote atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and thus also coronary heart disease. But many studies have shown that people whose blood cholesterol is low become just as atherosclerotic as people whose cholesterol is high.

Even if you ate absolutely no fats or oils of any kind your body would still produce cholesterol. Your body produces three to four times more cholesterol than you eat. The production of cholesterol increases when you eat little cholesterol and decreases when you eat much."

Cholesterol is your friend and not some dangerous monster. It is a vital repair and protective substance that is extremely important for proper functioning of the immune system and many other body functions as follows:

  1. Nourishing the brain, which is 80% cholesterol.
  2. Forms the structure of all cell membranes.
  3. Nourishes and maintains a healthy nervous system; it is directly responsible for the formation of nerve fiber sheaths.
  4. Formation of hormones, including estrogen, testosterone, aldosterone (produced by the adrenal glands), etc.
  5. Formation of vitamin D.
  6. Formation of bile acids required for digestion.
  7. Protects repairs and strengthens the heart, as well as the walls of arteries and blood vessels.
  8. Heals, strengthens and repairs the lining of the intestines.
  9. Builds healthy bones and muscles.
  10. Protects against infectious diseases.
  11. Regulates blood sugar.
  12. Repairs damaged tissues.
  13. Protects the body from the damaging effects of toxins; it is a powerful antioxidant.
  14. Maintains energy, vitality, libido [sexual desire] and fertility.
  15. Many other important functions.

Malcolm Kendrick, Medical Director; Adelphi Lifelong Learning, United Kingdom, states in his article Okay, Do You Know What A "Fat" Is? "You don't make cholesterol from saturated fats, or any other sort of fat, or vice-versa. Metabolically* speaking, there is no connection between these two substances at all."

*Metabolically comes from the word "metabolism" which is all of the biochemical activities carried out by an organism to maintain life.

Unfortunately saturated fats have been given a bad name by the oil and food manufacturing industries, with the sole purpose of selling their products. This is also true for the medical industry and drug companies who have based their recommendations on studies that were falsified.

Of course the drug companies do want you to know the truth, because the cholesterol myth and low-fat diets scam help them sell drugs. In fact the medical community was pressured by the drug companies to lower healthy cholesterol readings in order to get more people taking statin drugs!

Statin drugs are extremely damaging to the body. Here's an example of one statin drug called Crestor with the side effects listed on their leaflet: "CRESTOR is prescribed along with diet for lowering high cholesterol and has not been determined to prevent heart disease, heart attacks, or strokes.

CRESTOR is not right for everyone, including women who are nursing, pregnant, or who may become pregnant, or anyone with liver problems. Unexplained muscle pain and weakness could be a sign of a rare but serious side effect and should be reported to your doctor right away. Side effects occur infrequently and include muscle aches, constipation, weakness, abdominal pain, and nausea. They are usually mild and tend to go away."

The heart actually prefers saturated fats as stated by Sally Fallon and Mary G. Enig, PhD in What Causes Heart Disease?:   If you are avoiding foods containing saturated fat and cholesterol, you will not only deprive your body of vital nutrients, but the foods that you consume as substitutes will contain many components–polyunsaturated oils, trans fatty acids, refined sugar–that have been associated with increased rates of heart disease."

Cleansing, Cleanses & Flushes Are Not Recommended

Cleansing and cleanses are not recommended at any point during the candida program. Such treatments include liver, kidney, gall bladder or bowel flushes or cleanses, except for self-administered Enemas.

Liver, kidney and gall bladder cleanses or flushes are dangerous because they dump too many toxins into the body at one time, and people who are sick are not able to handle it.

There have been cases where people have ended up with life threatening conditions caused by such cleanses, or flushes, finding it necessary to be treated in the emergency room.

Also, liver and gall bladder flushes can release liver and galls stones into the bile ducts which can block and tear them, requiring emergency surgery.

The candida diet recommends high "good" saturated fats which are very important for liver and gall bladder health. Over time the diet will normalize the functions of the liver, gall bladder and other organs, and they will dissolve any stones that may be present. Good fats are the very best cleansers of the entire body, and they chelate out (get rid of) heavy metals.

All cleanses are a combination of herbs or ingredients which most sick or unhealthy people cannot handle. It is not only because they cause too many toxins to be dumped into the system at one time, but also because the ingredients themselves are often too strong which can cause adverse reactions.

The candida diet, supplements and other treatments recommended will do a good job of increasing digestion, strengthening the walls of the intestines (mostly with good saturated fats), increasing good motility of the intestines, cleansing the liver, adrenals and gall bladder, increasing kidney function, etc. and will cleanse any area that requires it, even chelating out (getting rid of) heavy metals such as mercury, lead, and aluminum, etc.
