Special Instructions for Digestive Problems

If you have digestive problems, i.e. upset stomach, acid reflux, heart burn, gas, bloating, etc. it is important that you cook the spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and stevia) prior to adding them to this recipe in order to break down their cell walls, which are fibers called cellulose that humans cannot digest, as explained in Raw Versus Cooked Carbs/Plant Foods – see the Alternative Preparation below this recipe.

Please see important notes below.

Ingredients

  • 3 large whole eggs (or 4 medium size), preferably "certified organic" free-range
(use all whole eggs or a combination of whole eggs and egg yolks)
  • 2 tablespoons unrefined coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (should be organic or certified organic, but preferably unpasteurized)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, or to taste
  • 1 pinch of green stevia leaf powder, or to taste
  • 2 to 2 ½ cups of boiled water

Other spices can be added to suit your taste, i.e. ground clove, allspice, ginger, etc.

All spices and dried herbs must be organic or certified organic from the health store, because all commercial products are irradiated (zapped with radiation) which change and damage the body's cells if consumed.

Preparation

See the Alternative Preparation below for people with digestive problems.

  1. Boil water.
  2. Put all ingredients in a blender except the water.
  3. Carefully pour in boiled water [the amount of water can be more or less, depending upon whether you like a thin or thick drink], but be careful not to put too much in the blender or food processor since it will spurt out the top more easily. Filling it to not more than 3 cups seems to work well.
  4. Close the cover well, pulse it at first, and then blend for 15-20 seconds.

This drink keeps well in a thermos for several hours, and it can be kept in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
Since it tends to separate it may need to be stirred well or blended again before drinking it.

If you prefer the drink cold, put it in the refrigerator to cool it down. Stir well before drinking it.

Alternative Preparation for Digestive Problems

  1. Heat water in a pot or kettle until it is steaming.
  2. Pour a small amount of steaming water into the bottom of a small saucepan, and add spices, i.e. cinnamon, nutmeg, stevia, etc., mixing them into the water with a small whisk or fork. It will be thick.
  3. Turn another burner on high heat and let it get hot.
  4. Add enough steaming water to the spice mixture so it is about 1 cup total, and mix it well.
  5. Put the spice mixture on the hot burner.
  6. Once it starts to boil, turn down the heat a little (to #8 on the stove dial), and cook it for 4 minutes. It will be gelatin-like and gloppy like egg whites, which means the cell walls are getting broken down. Keep mixing it with a fork or whisk while it is cooking.
  7. Turn off the burner under the pan or kettle of water since it has boiled by now.
  8. Meanwhile, put the eggs, unrefined coconut oil and butter in the blender or food processor.
  9. When the spice mixture is done, pour it into the blender – it will be thick and goopy, so be careful when you pour it in.
  10. Add more hot water to no more than 3 cups so you can easily blend it without it spurting out the top.
  11. Close the cover well, pulse it at first, and then blend for 15-20 seconds.

Important Notes:

  • Eggs, unrefined coconut oil, butter, and spices are healing foods that may create healing and detoxification reactions in some people, particularly if you are unhealthy. To minimize such reactions start with small amounts and and gradually increase them over time. To understand see Healing Foods, Herbs & Spices Create Healing Reactions.
  • The reason some people react to eggs is because they are high in sulphur (a mineral), and sulphur is very important for the body's detoxification processes which may create more detoxifying and healing reactions in some people. To minimize healing reactions start with less, i.e. 1 egg yolk or 1 teaspoon of egg yolk, and gradually increase them over time, so detoxifying and reactions are more tolerable.
  • Unrefined coconut oil goes into the bloodstream quicker than other fats and oils because it does not require digestive enzymes nor bile like other fats, in order to be absorbed into the bloodstream. It goes directly from the first part of small intestines (duodenum) through the lymphatic system into the bloodstream. Therefore, it helps healing and detoxification quicker than other oils or fats so it is very important to start with small amounts and slowly increase them.
  • All ingredients can be adjusted to suit individual needs and tastes. For example, if you are just starting on unrefined coconut oil, use 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of butter, less water and spices, and gradually increase the amount of eggs, coconut oil and butter over time (every 4 to 5 days or longer) to minimize healing and detoxifying reactions. The number of eggs can be increased or decreased, along with any other ingredients.
