Hello. I am sharing our story with you because we are very happy to have broken the cycle of the "eye situation."
My daughter is 8 years old and has been following the candida diet with me since December 2005. We have had great success – so many ailments have gone away!
For about 3 or 4 years about this time (when school begins), Olana would wake up with redness in one eye, which is tender and a little "crusty". Then would usually proceed to becoming very mucousy, very red, and very sore, and spread to the other eye within a day or two. Our old reaction was to go to the pediatrician for the one minute, $75 visit for eye drops and then to move on in life. This year, thanks to our new "tools" we had a different plan.
Day 1: Wrote to you Bee! We began by placing Pau D'Arco tea bags on each eye – damp enough to feel the water really saturate her eye area. Then, very lightly put coconut oil on the edge of her lid. To tell you the truth within hours she was looking better! We repeated it that evening, using heavier amounts of coconut oil because she did not have to see.
Day 2: No crust, just a little redness in both eyes. Repeated the tea bag and light coconut oil. She did go to school that day and had no tenderness. Soaked with tea bags after school and used some baking soda and water to rinse them, and then applied coconut oil in that eye.
Day 3: No problem. Her eye was clear, but at bedtime for the next 2 days we used the tea bags and coconut oil just to be sure.
She has also been consuming higher amounts of garlic. I sometimes roast it in coconut oil and she dips it in sea salt. Her immune system is dramatically different this year. So many children around her have been sick since the return of school. Our motto now is "we don't do sick"!
