Success Story by Ivanda, January 2008
On Bee's diet for a month. My head is much much clearer now, moods are more even (no more wild swings like before), back ache is gone, liver pain almost gone completely. The best thing about is mental clarity and increased energy and optimism! My anxiety has decreased a lot and it used to plague me for years. Has high DNA-repair enzyme, per test.

Dear all,
Some thoughts relating to what Kristina wrote as well as intro of myself.
Before starting candida diet I noticed one thing;+ I normally ate a quite healthy diet but every time I binged on sweets or alcohol I would crash 2-3 days afterwards. My physical and mental symptoms like back ache, liver pain, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety and so on would intensify and become almost unbearable. Also they would last sometimes for weeks. I even suspected adrenal fatigue, did the test, but it came back normal.
I followed the diet for almost a month now (still
weaning off carbs like quinoa and lentils which I have in small amounts with my meals) and I can tell you all I noticed improvement in symptoms almost immediately. My head is much much clearer now, moods are more even (no more wild swings like before), back ache is gone, liver pain almost gone completely (appears rarely in combination with other die off symptoms and when I try to
run. It used to be quite bad, even when walking and resting in bed).. Sometimes I experience pain in my knees
(strange but must be part of detox as I never had this before) and increased sinus pressure, but apparently they are all signs of healing.
The best thing about it is mental clarity and increased energy and optimism! My anxiety has decreased a lot and it used to plague me for years. It's convincing enough to me that these symptoms are/were related to candida.
I'm only 30 and, despite, what others may say, I realised that it is not normal to feel this way. Not normal at all to feel so anxious and weak all the time when everything is going so well in my life. It must have been all those candida toxins affecting my brain and everything else in the body.
I just wanted to feel like I did 5-6 years ago and I'm slowly getting there! :) By the way, I suspect that I had candida as a teenager, but it became seriously
aggravated after I moved to USA 6 years ago (I'm from Latvia originally). I had a lot of stress, not so good lifestyle and took broad spectrum antibiotics for
sinus problems several times within one year. Most of my candida symptoms started shortly after (about 3 years ago). Now I'm in UK and finally have enough time and other resources to embark on the healing path :)
I've been down with a cold since Friday :( Unwelcome setback when I was doing so well. My energy is sapped again, but hanging in there. I suggest everybody
keep a journal where you record all your successes, good and bad days.. it helps immensely to remind yourself that there is always sunshine after rain. :)
One more interesting thing! I work in a lab and about 3 months ago my colleague requested blood samples from all of us for his study. He isolated lymphocytes and then made holes in them with special solution to gain access to the DNA-repair enzyme he was studying. After the first attempt he told me I have no enzyme activity which was very strange. Then he had another idea- to leave my
cells in the solution for 10 minutes instead of 5 and see what happens. He had noticed that they do not stain purple in the dye as readily as they should and look quite pale in comparison to other samples. 10 minutes worked and I actually turned out to have a very high enzyme activity :)
Later when reading on candida I came across information on toxins it releases into our blood stream, one of them being acetaldehyde which makes cells go rigid so they cannot perform their functions properly. I had a big AHA moment!
Everything makes so much sense now. I've also asked him to repeat the test again after several months to see if there is any change :)
Sorry for making it so long. I'm so excited about the progress I've made in feeling better that I keep talking about it (and candida in general) to my friend and my boyfriend who, first of all, don't believe in candida and, second, are sick and tired of me talking about it. lol.
Wish everyone best of luck on their path! If you are persistand in your search for answers, you will find them :)
