Success Story by Kim M., March 2005
Most of my candida-related symptoms have diminished, some to a minimal level, some only occasional flare-ups. Bee, when I started there were only 10 foods I could eat without going into an allergic reaction. Now I can eat about 30. My thrush [mouth] has cleared up completely.

Most of my candida-related symptoms have diminished, some to a minimal level, some only occasional flare-ups. That in itself is reward enough! But I've also learned a lot about nutrition and diet, and am so much healthier because of the dietary and lifestyle changes that I needed to make, partly because of my new gastric disorders, but mainly because of dealing with candida.
The most significant improvement in my candida-related symptoms is with my food allergies and intolerances. Like Bee, when I started there were only 10 foods I could eat without going into an allergic reaction. Now I can eat about 30 and I only have to rotate or severely limit about 10 vegetables. There are still some I can't tolerate at all; unfortunately most are the natural antifungals; and I have to really be careful with supplements.
I had/have a lot of the typical candida symptoms: thrush, burning eyes, sore throat, fluid in the ears, chapped lips, dryer-than-usual skin, vaginal discomfort and discharge, irritated bladder (interstitial cystitis), exhaustion.... My thrush has cleared up completely; everything else is barely noticeable except when I have to take antibiotics, or I try a food that is hard to digest for me. I just drop back to the stricter phase of the diet for a few days.
It still feels like the candida overgrowth is just below the surface, waiting to flourish if the conditions change. So I know I'm not healed completely yet, but making good progress. Which keeps me going!
