I must confess, in the beginning I was skeptical. When my doctor first told me about candida, I wasn't convinced. I got on the internet to find out more (which is how I ultimately found this group, thank goodness!). I found an article on quackwatch.com about the 'candida myth'. And Dr. Weil has a statement on his website dismissing the candida theory.
But of course, I also found articles that supported what my doctor had said. I ended up in your group and was thrilled to have found other people interested in healthy eating (you wouldn't believe how out-of-place I feel sometimes!) And the diet seemed very doable for me; I wanted to add more meat and proteins to my diet anyway.
Even so, I had some doubts this diet. No seeds and nuts? No carrots? No juicing? I found some of the guidelines difficult to accept. And I didn't like the idea of taking supplements. And the fat intake seemed too high.
But now I'm a believer! This program seems to answer things I couldn't explain before. It all makes more sense to me each day. And Bee really knows her stuff – I believe she was right on target about the calcium/magnesium thing. And as hard as it is to admit, she must be right about juicing – because when I finally used www.fitday.com, I found that I'm getting too many carbs from veggie juices!
My progress has been gradual, but there is definitely progress! That's exciting! People are starting to comment that I look healthier. Just today my boss said something about it. Still some issues – the pain in my shoulders that won't let up (but I'll ease up on the calcium and see if that helps), and of course dealing with the die–off symptoms. But I have improved since I began a couple months ago. THANK YOU!!
